Dion Thompson-Davoli

Welcome

Dion Thompson-Davoli

I'm an urban planner and economic developer in Kansas City, MO. In my spare time I often blog about the development pattern of Kansas City, where my thoughts are informed by experience living in Detroit, Jacksonville, Washington DC, and KC, as well as working on economic development issues at the national scale. I'll also occasionally post about my other interests, including professional distance running, architecture, and the eastern front of the second world war.

My Kansas City blog is hosted on substack at kcisms.substack.com. I also post frequently on twitter @2024dion.

I began my career working in homeless services as a housing resource navigator in Detroit and have since worked in economic development for nationally-oriented consulting and research nonprofits. I currently work as a Program Manager for the NADO Research Foundation and am a member of the American Planning Association and the Kansas City Regional Transit Alliance. I'm a parishioner at St. Francis Xavier and a new father.
